A legendary shape. Alvar Aalto created the Aalto vase for iittala and for the 1937 Paris World Fair. The line of vases created by Alvar Aalto in various shapes, sizes and colors won the competition, in which he participated under the pseudonym "The leather pants of eskimo woman ". Nature was the source of inspiration for many of Alvar Aalto's works and, since he was the son of a cartographer, it is likely that the forms in this collection derive from the Finnish landscape and its lakes. Alvar Aalto did not want to indicate what use to make of this glass object, but he wanted the people themselves to decide and perhaps this is the secret that has allowed the Aalto collection to always remain modern and fresh. The pieces can be exhibited in groups or individually, exclusive works of art, a pleasure to own and give.
